"One table. Two chairs. Twenty minutes. Two performers." – The rules are simple. The results, not that simple.
"One table two chairs" is the most basic staging used in traditional Chinese opera. When triggered by the performers, the minimalist set transforms into various different scenarios – leading to infinite spatial possibilities.
This year, three directors with distinctively different styles will revisit this theatrical concept. We may have grown accustomed to the smoke and mirrors of the stage effects. But this time, let us go back to the basics – the simplest form – and soar the clouds of imagination with our artists, into a realm of mind-blowing creativity.
